Zeeland ophthalmologist to serve in MSMS House of Delegates
LANSING — A local physician will serve in the Michigan State Medical Society House of Delegates.
During the 156th annual meeting of the MSMS House of Delegates, held virtually in early May, Zeeland ophthalmologist Bryan Huffman was elected to a one-year term as vice speaker.
Huffman is a West Michigan native. He attended the University of Michigan Medical School and returned to the lakeshore in 2005 to join Sight Eye Clinic of Zeeland.
Huffman is a diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology, and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Michigan Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons and the Christian Medical and Dental Associations.
He also serves as president of the Ottawa County Medical Society and previously served as a delegate to the MSMS House of Delegates.
MSMS is a statewide association of 15,000 physicians, and is affiliated with the American Medical Association. At the annual MSMS meeting, policies on various issues — such as public health, healthcare delivery and medical ethics — are determined.
